(PRESSURES THROUGH 500 psig (3450 kPa) AT 70 ºF (21.1 ºC))
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense.
The requirements for acquiring the product described herein shall consist of this specification
sheet and the issue of MIL-DTL-2 listed in that issue of the Department of Defense Index of
Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) specified in the solicitation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. The valve components shall contain less than 67 percent copper.
2. The centerline of the inlet shall meet the centerline of the stem at an angle of
50 degrees and shall meet the centerline of the outlet at an angle of 40 degrees in a common
geometric plane.
3. Marking is not mandatory.
4. A fuse plug from fusible metal poured and anchored in a channel drilled in the valve
body shall be acceptable as a type 3 pressure relief device (PRD).
